Tracey Evans of Creston, student activities coordinator at Southwestern Community College and a longtime fixture in the college’s athletics department, will be on the sideline assisting second-year Head Coach Shaela Camp during the 2020 Spartan volleyball season.
Camp and Evans will navigate a tough schedule with their Spartan team in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference. They will have three returners on the team.
Evans has worked in various capacities at Southwestern since May 1995. She is familiar with the expectations, history, and successes of the volleyball program and department as a whole.
Evans, an all-around athlete, played multiple sports in high school. She played collegiate softball while attending Southwestern in the 80s. In addition, she has been called on to assist with coaching assignments at Southwestern. Her most recent coaching stint occurred within the softball program in 2007-08, during the era of Head Coach Lindsay Stumpff, who is now Southwestern’s director of residential life. Evans also assisted with softball during the 1997-98 and 2002-03 seasons.
