For the second time in four weeks, Southwestern freshman Frank Sanchez has been named the ICCAC Division I Baseball Athlete of the Week for position players.

The shortstop from Moca, Puerto Rico, scorched opposing pitching over the course of the week, hitting at a .450 clip with two doubles, one home run, six RBIs and three runs scored. He added one stolen base as Southwestern split a four-game set with Marshalltown Community College.

Sanchez leads the Spartans this season with a .390 batting average, .462 on-base percentage and .732 slugging percentage. He also tops the team with four triples and five home runs to go with 24 RBIs.

Southwestern plays its first home game in nearly two years 3 p.m. today against Iowa Central before hosting Iowa Western for a four-game series Saturday and Sunday.
