Creston, IOWA—Dylan McDonald, Chariton archer, has committed to the Southwestern Community College sports shooting program for the 2018-19 season.

Marc Roberg, Southwestern sports shooting coach, said he thinks McDonald will do well on the college's sports shooting team. McDonald has competed at state archery three years in a row.

"Dylan comes from the Chariton Archery in Schools program," stated Roberg. "The same mental discipline used in archery is used in trap shooting. He is familiar with shotgun shooting and his brother shot here at Southwestern as well."

McDonald, who will graduate from Chariton High School in May, was on the honor roll, the Principal's Honor Roll, and received a silver card during high school.

He is the son of Tammy and John McDonald of Chariton.
